GiveDirectly aims to reshape international giving, making direct transfers to the poor the benchmark against which other, more expensive approaches of aid are evaluated. By enabling donors to send money directly to the world’s poorest, GiveDirectly has delivered more than $300 million in cash directly into the hands of more than 500,000 families living in poverty.

GiveDirectly’s top priority was hiring a VP of Marketing to grow its annual revenue from philanthropic contributions. GiveDirectly partnered with Rippleworks to learn and implement best practices for executive recruitment in the marketing field.

• Redefined the scope and responsibilities of GiveDirectly’s VP of Marketing to include product development and UX ownership

• Created interview questions focused on understanding essential skills; developed framework for evaluating responses

• Revised the interview assignment to score candidates on marketing strategy design and execution skills
