Lapaire is an organization dedicated to democratizing access to eye care for lower-middle-income urban communities across sub-Saharan Africa. By offering stylish eyewear at fair prices and conducting free vision tests, Lapaire aims to improve eyesight for millions seeking affordable yet high-quality options. The organization began its operations in Kenya and has expanded to Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Mali, Benin, Togo, and Uganda, where it currently operates 85 branches.

One of Lapaire’s top priorities going into the project was implementing a data-driven demand planning strategy that enhances frame selection and consequently improves customer satisfaction.

Lapaire partnered with Nathan Royston, an operations and supply chain expert with 15+ years of experience. Together, they:

• Analyzed existing consumption patterns and identified process pain points through stakeholder interviews. 

• Developed a structured criteria framework, identifying key demand drivers and essential metrics for accurate forecasting

• Revised team responsibilities and created a detailed implementation plan that systematized the demand planning process.
