Afya Research Africa partnered with Rippleworks to define their value proposition and refresh their core messaging.

Afya Research Africa focuses on helping communities set up and manage rural medical centers, implement the right technology for these small remote healthcare facilities, and promote local research and evidence-based medicine in order to improve the quality of care. ARA currently runs a network of 25 primary health centers called Ubuntu-Afya Kiosks in rural and peri-urban areas across Kenya that lack public and private healthcare options. These kiosks are equivalent to level-2 and level-3 healthcare facilities, and provide non-communicable disease care services along with reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health in addition to HIV testing and treatment services.

One of ARA’s top priorities going into this project was positioning the organization to fundraise from new and existing philanthropic donors over the next 3 years.

ARA partnered with Nicholas Lembo, a marketing leader with 15+ years experience in B2B and B2C roles in global tech companies.. Together, they:

• Defined ARA’s value proposition and messaging hierarchy. 

• Trained for pitching to funders. 

• Updated ARA’s fundraising tools.
