Center for Empowering Refugees and Immigrants

Center for Empowering Refugees and Immigrants (CERI) is a nonprofit organization based in Oakland with a mission to improve the social, emotional, psychological, economic, and physical health of refugees and immigrants from Southeast Asia affected by war, torture, genocide or other forms of extreme trauma.
They provide culturally relevant mental health support and other social services through programming for youth leadership, adults and older adults, workforce training and development, and the LGBTQ+ community. CERI has seen results through a reduced need of psychiatric medicine, reduced social isolation, increased involvement in local politics and more.
